The second edition of the Lyonbiopôle Partnering Days achieved a great success |

On Friday 24th October 2008 the second edition of the Lyonbiopôle Partnering Days took place in Grenoble. This year again, this event was a complete success. More 250 participants attendeed this meeting against 150 last year during the first edition. Some examples of accredited and funding R&D projects have been presented as well as the public funding scheme. Poster sessions valorised 36 collaborative projects. The afternoon was devoted to a common working around theme-based workshops and round tables. All lyonbiopole’s team thanks to all participants for their assiduity and commitments during this day.

ADNA program receives approval from the European Commission up to € 90 M |

The ADNA Program (Advanced Diagnostics for New therapeutic Approaches), accredited by Lyonbiopôle in 2007, has just been given the European Commission’s approval for an allocation of state research and innovation aid from OSEO in the amount of € 89.5 million. The ADNA program represents a total investment in research and development of nearly € 400M over the period of 2008-2017. Coordinated by Mérieux Alliance, the ADNA program groups included 4 partners:
- BioMérieux and GenoSafe for the diagnosis
- Généthon et Transgene for the new thérapies.

The Young Investigator Award has won by Hanane El Garch (Merial Lyon) |

|
Hanane El Garch, research assistant in Immunology, Lyon, has won the Young Investigator Award at the 9th International Feline Retrovirus Research Symposium, Vienna, Austria, last August 24-27th for her work on "Intestinal CD134+ T and B lymphocytes: sites for active FIV replication in chronically infected cats". This award was due in large part to the collaborative work leaded by Hervé Poulet in the FIV-VAX project, FUI project accredited by Lyonbiopôle and funding by State and Locals authorities.

Lyonbiopôle and BioWin teams sealed, on October 8th 2008, the foundations for inter-cluster partnerships at European level. The Lyonbiopôle-BioWin partnership will focus in particular on 3 main areas: research and development first in topic of security for biopharmaceutical , training and communication. |

PPTI: first conclusive results for the Lifescience Corridor France |
 |
 The 3 French BIO Clusters, Lyonbiopôle, Alsace BioValley and Cancer-Bio-Health, under the common name Lifescience Corridor France and ADIT have held a steering committee PPTI (International Technological Partnership Program), under the aegis of DGE, French Ministry of industry on September 16th, 2008 in Paris. According to 4 axes of the methodology, on 90 target companies, 67 attendeed awarness meeting and 34 were diagnosed. 37 research plans are in progress for 30 companies: 13 companies research partners in Japan, 15 in USA and 9 in Québec/Canada. All in all, 6 partnerships are established or in the course of finalization.

Infectiology: Lyonbiopôle part of a Rhône-Alpes’delegation in Shanghai |

The infectious diseases of viral, bacterial, parasitic or fungal origin are responsible for more than 17 million deaths a year in the world. The fight against the infectious diseases is a real stake in public health. It is in this frame, that laboratories and companies of Rhône-Alpes’ region get closer of Shanghai’s region which is particularly active and placed well at the international level. Within the framework of this project "Infectiology", on October 28th 2008, Lyonbiopôle participated in Shanghai in a scientific colloquium on the subject "viral Hepatitis: fundamental aspects and applications". |

This event will take place to 8th from 11th March 2009 in Lyon. This event is a worldwide life sciences forum and offers an international platform of discussions, debates and propositions on the big stakes in Life sciences. It mobilizes more than 2 000 opinion leaders, international organizations managers, current industrial groups, the NGO and associations, and political officers, who discuss stakes in Life sciences for the society in the domains of health, the food and of environment. On the occasion of BioVision 2009, Lyon welcomes the business meeting BioSquare, aims to stimulate the scientific, industrial, commercial and financial partnerships between 1 200 participants of more than 800 companies of Life sciences. |
